The project, signed on 14 August 2025, involves the conversion of fuel usage at the plant’s production lines by replacing liquid fuel with natural gas. This initiative will be carried out using the latest available technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce reliance on crude oil.
Strategic Impact
According to Eng. Omar Al-Omar, CEO of Qassim Cement, the project aims to raise the efficiency of fuel use, lower production costs, and support environmental sustainability. It is also aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, particularly in reducing crude oil consumption in industrial operations and promoting cleaner energy use.
