Webuild Group’s U.S. subsidiary, Lane, has been awarded a new USD 238 million (EUR 203 million) contract to upgrade a section of Interstate 75 (I-75) in Marion County, Florida, as part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s “Moving Florida Forward” initiative. This initiative aims to modernize vital infrastructure across the state.

This new win follows closely on the heels of Lane’s USD 337 million contract for work on Interstate 85 in North Carolina, reinforcing Webuild‘s strong presence and reputation in the U.S. infrastructure sector.
The 12.8 km section of I-75 plays a critical role in freight and passenger traffic in northern Florida. Once completed, the project will significantly improve road capacity and safety, particularly during emergency evacuations, while reducing traffic delays by up to 96% northbound and 88% southbound.

The scope includes:
- Adding auxiliary lanes between interchanges from SR 200 to SR 326
- One bridge replacement and construction of two new bridges
- A new interchange at 49th Street
- Safety upgrades to three existing interchanges (SR 40, US 27, SR 326)
- Drainage enhancements and noise barrier installation
Construction is expected to start in early 2026 and will take approximately three years to complete.
Lane is currently active across Florida, working on several projects such as the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4), Seminole Expressway Widening, and Turnpike Mainline in Lake County. Nationally, Webuild is involved in key transportation projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, enhancing the safety and efficiency of U.S. road infrastructure.
