AtkinsRéalis Group Inc., in joint venture with AECOM, has been awarded a major contract to deliver investigation, design, and multidisciplinary services for the Hong Kong Section of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link.

- Client: Hong Kong SAR Government (Northern Metropolis Railways Office & Highways Department)
- JV Partners: AtkinsRéalis (Lead) and AECOM

The project, part of the 2021 Policy Address and Northern Metropolis Development Strategy, aims to enhance cross-border transport between Hung Shui Kiu in Hong Kong and Qianhai in Shenzhen, supporting regional integration across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The project includes:
- Construction of Hung Shui Kiu Station
- A 7.3-kilometre railway line extending to the Hong Kong boundary
- Two intermediate stations at Ha Tsuen and Lau Fau Shan
- Development of Ha Tsuen Depot on a 19-hectare site
- Provisions for future rail connections to the Hong Kong Island West–Hung Shui Kiu Rail Link
The project will strengthen regional connectivity with advanced railway infrastructure, supporting efficient travel and cross-border integration. AtkinsRéalis will lead the joint venture, providing design expertise and managing system integration for seamless operation across the GBA.
