The contract, which was recognized in Fluor’s Q2 2025 financials, follows the recent commissioning of Phase 1 and the successful export of the project’s first LNG cargo. The LNG Canada plant is a landmark project on Canada’s west coast, featuring an annual capacity of up to 14 million tones of LNG. With access to low-cost natural gas and an ice-free port, it places Canada among the top suppliers of low-carbon LNG. The plant will operate under a 40-year license, contributing to the global energy transition by offering natural gas as a cleaner alternative to coal.
The Phase 2 expansion would further enhance the facility’s processing, storage, and shipping capabilities. While LNG Canada and its five global partners continue to explore this expansion, a final investment decision has not yet been made.
“We’ve been a proud partner of LNG Canada through Phase 1 and we look forward to contributing to the next chapter in the construction of this world-class facility,” said Mike Alexander, Fluor’s Business Group President of Energy Solutions. “We commend the LNG Canada team for its foresight and commitment to the energy transition.”
