Deutsche Bahn Engineering (DBEC) – Hill International JV has been declared the lowest bidder for the General Consultant contract for the new 28.8 km Gurugram Metro Corridor, connecting Millennium City Centre to Cyber City with 27 stations.

The contract, floated by Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) in May 2024, is estimated at ₹135 crore. To boost participation, GMRL extended the deadline to attract firms with relevant metro project experience. After final negotiations in Panchkula, the DBEC-Hill JV was chosen as the most suitable bidder. The contract award is expected soon, pending formalities.

Consultant’s Scope of Work:
- Review the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for feasibility and alignment
- Approve designs ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance
- Prepare tender documents for transparent contractor selection
- Supervise construction work for quality and timely completion
- Oversee testing and commissioning of the metro system
- Develop disaster management and security plans
- Prepare property development plans for long-term sustainability
- Provide technical support to coordinate stakeholders
GMRL has already appointed SYSTRA as the Detailed Design Consultant, who has completed geotechnical surveys and is finalizing the alignment and designs.
Additionally, GMRL has floated tenders for civil construction work for Phase 1 of the metro project, receiving bids from eight major firms. The evaluation of those bids is currently underway.
The new corridor is set to significantly improve connectivity within Gurugram, supporting the city’s growing public transport needs.
