Renergen has awarded preferred bidder status to the He4u consortium for the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of Phase 2 of its Tetra4 LNG and helium liquefaction project, a key part of the Virginia Gas Project.

The He4u consortium comprises:
- Chart Industries, Inc. – Supplying helium and LNG liquefaction technologies.
- WBHO – Leading civil and industrial contractor with deep South African project experience.
- Aurex Constructors – Specialist EPC contractor with a strong record in the energy sector.
This milestone brings the company closer to securing a final DFC Phase 2 loan, with the EPC contractor appointment being a key requirement. The consortium’s turnkey approach and technical expertise are expected to minimize execution risk, with Worley overseeing the project as the Owner’s Engineer.
