Technip Energies and JGC Awarded Dual FEED Contracts for INPEX Abadi LNG Project

Technip Energies (PARIS:TE), in consortium with JGC Corporation, has been awarded two significant Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contracts for the INPEX Abadi LNG project. This development, located in the Masela Block, Indonesia, is considered a landmark project for the country’s energy landscape.

Project Highlights of INPEX Abadi LNG Project

  • Location: Masela Block, Indonesia
  • Annual Production Capacity:
    • 9.5 million tons of LNG
    • 150 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas for domestic supply
  • Contribution to Japan: Over 10% of Japan’s LNG imports
  • Sustainability: Integration of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology
  • Goal: Align with Indonesia’s net-zero CO₂ emissions target by 2060

Overview of the Contracts

1. Gas Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) FEED

  • Covers engineering of a gas FPSO unit for the Abadi gas field.
  • The FPSO will treat raw gas before exporting dry gas via subsea pipeline to the onshore LNG plant.

2. Onshore LNG Facility FEED

  • Covers design of two LNG trains and supporting infrastructure:
    • Jetty
    • Materials offloading facilities
    • Logistics supply base
  • Includes gas treatment to remove impurities before liquefaction, storage, and offloading.
