Aker Solutions has secured a significant contract (valued between NOK 1.5 billion (aprrox 1271CR in INR) and NOK 2.5 billion (2117CR in INR)) from Dragados Offshore to deliver the steel substructure for a 2GW HVDC converter station as part of the BalWin2 offshore wind grid connection system in Germany, developed by Amprion Offshore GmbH.

This contract follows Dragados Offshore exercising its option for a second HVDC converter station under the BalWin development. Aker Solutions will carry out procurement, fabrication engineering, and construction of the platform substructure at its Verdal yard in Norway.
Project preparations will start in Q1 2026, with construction beginning in Q1 2027 and final delivery expected in 2029. The project is expected to create jobs for over 450 people at its peak.
Aker Solutions will record the contract as part of its Q2 2025 order intake under the Renewables and Field Development segment. The company plans to leverage its expertise in standardization and industrialization to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
