Penspen, a global energy consultancy, has secured a significant engineering services contract to support EPC works at a major onshore oil field in the South-East region of Abu Dhabi. The field is central to UAE’s energy security and economic growth.

The contract has been awarded by one of the fastest-growing EPC contractors in the MENA region, and involves detailed engineering to support the installation of key new equipment aimed at increasing petroleum production.

Scope of Work
Penspen’s Abu Dhabi team will deliver comprehensive engineering services for:
- A new Multi-Phase Pump (MPP): To be installed parallel to two existing pumps for handling higher fluid volumes from well fluids to processing facilities.
- Four Water Injection Surface Pumps (WISPs): Integrated into the facility to maintain reservoir pressure and optimize oil recovery.
- Facility Integration: Upgrades to the Central Gathering Facilities (CGF), including modifications to the control room and substation for improved operational efficiency.
The engineering will cover Process, HSE, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, Civil/Structural, and Materials disciplines. Penspen will also assist with procurement, especially for long-lead items (LLIs) like the MPP and WISPs.
Project Outcome
The project is expected to be completed by Q4 2025. Upon completion, it will help maximize recovery from Abu Dhabi’s oil reserves, supporting both local economic development and the global demand for secure energy. Penspen aims to leverage its deep experience in similar projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
