Petrofac, a global energy industry services company, has been awarded a $1.2 billion Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contract by ADNOC Gas to expand gas processing facilities at the Das Island offshore site in the UAE.

As part of ADNOC Gas’ broader Rich Gas Development (RGD) Programme, Petrofac’s scope includes:
- Development of a new inlet facility
- Construction of two new gas dehydration and compression trains, each with 420 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) capacity
- Upgrades to existing infrastructure for improved raw gas collection and transportation
These enhancements aim to significantly boost gas processing capacity to meet growing demand and reinforce the UAE’s energy export capabilities.

Das Island, located 160 km northwest of mainland UAE, has been a major LNG production hub since 1977 and is the third-longest running LNG operation globally, with a liquefaction capacity of 6 MMtpa. This expansion project further strengthens the UAE’s role in global energy markets.
