Under this contract, worth KRW 181.6 billion, Taihan will design, manufacture, transport, and install over 100 km of inter-array submarine cables, connecting turbines and linking them to offshore substations.

The wind farm, located off the Anma Archipelago on Korea’s west coast, will deliver 532 MW of capacity and generate 1,400 GWh annually, enough to supply clean energy to 1.4 million people.
All cables for this project will be produced at Taihan’s recently completed Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 1, ensuring modern manufacturing standards. For installation, the company will deploy “PALOS”, Korea’s only cable laying vessel (CLV), which had previously demonstrated its capabilities in the Yeonggwang Nakwol project.

Taihan has built a solid track record in Korea’s offshore wind sector, having contributed to multiple projects including the Southwest Offshore Wind Farm. This experience underpins its capability to execute complex offshore assignments under full turnkey arrangements.
The company is also investing in the future. On July 16, Taihan approved the development of Submarine Cable Plant 2, which will produce 640kV HVDC and 400kV HVAC cables.
Plant 2 will support the upcoming West Coast Energy Highway initiative and international offshore wind demand. Construction is set to begin this year, with operations starting in 2027.
A Taihan representative stated:
“By consistently strengthening our turnkey capabilities since 2009, we are ensuring supply chain stability in Korea’s offshore wind sector and boosting our competitiveness in global markets including Europe and Asia.”
This contract is a significant step in Korea’s clean energy transition and underlines Taihan’s growing role in enabling offshore wind infrastructure and energy transmission.
